Caturday Art: Screened Skull for Halloween

Screened Skull for Halloween

Itty bitty little kitty,

Halloween is in the city,

Leering skulls roam down your street,

Door to door they trick or treat,

Stay inside behind a screen,

Safe from ghosts and goblins mean.

Itty bitty little kitty,

Halloween is in the city.

Getting into the spirit of Halloween with another Octelle poem to go with the image! We used the online photo effects website Pixlr and applied the “Jean” effect, “Screened” overlay, and “Skull” frame.

This is a blog hop.

Scaredy Cat, Fraidy Cat

Writing 101 Day 17: What are you scared of? Address one of your worst fears. If you’re up for a twist, write this post in a style that’s different from your own.

A scaredy cat, a fraidy cat,

A shadow black beside me sat,

In poised arch, puff big I freeze,

Stops threat cold, imbues unease,

Scared myself and blind I flee,

Hide some where it can not see.

A scaredy cat, a fraidy cat,

A shadow black beside me sat.

Trying an “Octelle” poem style, for October. The Octelle, created by Emily Romano, is a poem consisting of eight lines using personification and symbolism in a telling manner. The syllable count structure for this verse is 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, and the rhyme scheme is aa/bb/cc/aa. The first two lines and the last two lines are identical.
