The Providence of Purrseaus – Happy BC Day

Meowee Furiends, today is the first Monday of August and is known as British Columbia Day, BC Day or B.C. Day, in the province of British Columbia. It is a statutory holiday and gives Canadians in the province the chance to celebrate their achievements or relax with friends and family members. Except this year is a little different as we all know.

We are cruising north along the Sunshine Coast in Malaspina Strait and the water is flat calm. Purrfect conditions for boating and a quick blog post. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful Province to explore. I do like to sit outside sometimes and experience it.

My humans and their Canadian Power & Sail Squadron furiends are once again travelling together. Due to the Covid virus that I keep hearing about, this cruise almost didn’t happen but thankfully all the humans here have been respectfully minding their distance and other social measures to prevent the virus from spreading, and its working. Its good to know everyone is doing their part.

I’m not sure where the currents are sending us for the next 2 weeks so it will be an adventure. I hope all is well with all of you, and in the words I’ve heard the top doc on TV say: “This is our time to be kind, to be calm, and to be safe”.

Paw paw for now! =^,,^=

  1. Percy! We are so happy to see you back. It looks like you are having the greatest time, we are jealous. Pearl is a tortimese and has never been on a boat but thinks it looks fascinating with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Do you ever have to put on a life vest if the winds get wild?

    • I am happy to be back too! Tell Pearl there are lots of nooks & crannies to explore but I don’t recommend the spaces with black oily substances that stick to my paws and then to whatever I walk on. Then the humans aren’t happy with me when that happens. I do have a life jacket but I think it was made for a dog because it keeps slipping up over my head and I look like a turtle. The humans have a carpet attached to the swim grid so if I ever fall in, I can easily grab that with my claws to get back onboard. Thanks for asking and stay safe out there! =^,,^=
